Motorsportresearch.com is the reports portal for the Motorsport Industry Association, designed to be the main report resource for the global motorsport industry and the first port of call for people interested in acquiring reports, technical or business papers on motorsport.
The Motorsport Industry Association (MIA) is the global trade association serving motorsport’s high performance engineering, tuning and services industry.
Motorsport Valley® is one of Britain’s most successful business communities. It can be compared directly with Silicon Valley for computers and Hollywood for entertainment. Total sales from the UK motorsport industry alone exceed £5 billion, of which 65% is exported, and provides over 40,000 high-value jobs. To extend and promote this global leadership, the MIA champions Motorsport Valley companies throughout the world.
Founded in 1994, the MIA now has well over 300 members globally. It assists their business development in a many ways, through providing information, opportunities, assistance and constant encouragement:
- The MIA hosts a comprehensive programme of events which provide the perfect medium for companies to network and develop new business. In addition, it arranges conferences and seminars to keep members updated on the latest developments in technology and business.
- The MIA has, with support from UK Trade and Investment, developed a unique global business network to pursue opportunities for UK companies in worldwide motorsport markets. As part of this activity, it annually organises invaluable business group visits to the USA, the Far East and the Gulf States and other emerging markets.
- The MIA maintains effective links to Governments to ensure a better understanding of the sector and its problems, leading to appropriate and effective delivery of support. This helps employment grow by developing motorsport within education initiatives.
- The MIA provides a wide range of practical business support and advice to Motorsport companies to protect their interests and resolve difficulties.
- The MIA promotes the achievements of members and the profile of the motorsport industry through the general media and to businesses direct.
- In 2006 the MIA launched the Motorsport Foundation to increase participation in motorsport and the industry. A part of this initiative is National Motorsport Week, which is jointly supported by the MSA representing the sport, National Motorsport Week will raise national and local media awareness of UK motorsport and its industry and so attract new audiences and participants into the sport. The MIA Membership demographics includes; Motorsport and Performance Engineering Companies, Race and Rally Teams, Governing Bodies, Motorsport Services, Research Organisations, Race Circuits, Colleges and Universities.
This translates into a Membership base that includes companies such as; Williams F1, Renault F1, Xtrac, Cosworth Racing, Prodrive, Lola Cars International, M Sport, CSS Stellar, International Sportsworld Communicators (ISC), QinetiQ, Pi Research, MIRA and Rockingham Motor Speedway.
